The driver of a tractor-trailer involved in a freak accident on New Year's Day is reported by police to have only minor injuries.
The Utah Highway Patrol reports that a tractor-trailer left Interstate 80 near mile marker 176 near Echo, came to rest across a set of railroad tracks, and was struck by a freight train. Echo is located about 50 miles northeast of Salt Lake City.
The incident occurred Sunday afternoon, Jan. 1.
A report about the incident by KUTV said the train separated the truck from the trailer when the collision occurred.
