An East Texas college is expanding its transportation training facility.
Kilgore College will break ground for its new CDL Driver Training Track on Monday and begin construction of a large driving track, classroom facility, and warehouse training building as part of a major expansion of its Transportation Institute.
The groundbreaking is set for 10 a.m. Monday, at the future home of the new track, located at 4931 FM 349 in Kilgore, next to the Texas Department of Public Safety Commercial Driver’s License Testing Office.
KC’s collaborative partnership with the Kilgore Economic Development Corporation resulted in securing the tract of land that will allow for future expansions with the goal of becoming a fully equipped transportation training institute.

Kilgore is located just off Interstate 20 about 70 miles west of Shreveport, Louisiana.
