Iowa State Patrol Commercial Vehicle Unit
The Iowa State Patrol's Commercial Vehicle Unit is starting the new year with a new inspection facility.
The patrol opened a new building at the Jasper scale facility on Interstate 80 on Jan. 1.
The patrol said in a Facebook post the new building means "inspections can be done in a safe environment and in a climate-controlled area."
There will also (soon) be public restrooms available 24/7 for drivers to use, according to the CVU.
Another new similar building will be opened later this year as the Dallas scales on I-80.
