A 51-year-old truck driver from Florida was struck and killed by a snowplow while standing outside his rig in central Missouri early Monday, Jan.22.

Alexander Rodriguez Gonzalez was standing outside his tractor-trailer alongside U.S. 36 near Bucklin, Missouri about 109 miles east of St. Joseph when he was struck and killed, according to Missouri State Police.

Another tractor-trailer was eastbound on U.S. 36 when the driver lost control and struck a Missouri Department of Transportation snowplow. The plow struck Gonzalez's trailer and then him.

The driver of the second tractor-trailer and the snowplow operator suffered minor injuries and were treated at a nearby hospital.

The State Police reported there were icy road conditions at the time of the crash.
