A 33-year-old man has been charged in connection with a collision on a Louisville, Kentucky bridge that left the driver of a tractor-trailer in her cab as it dangled high above the Ohio River.
The woman trucker was rescued when a fireman was lowered over the edge of the bridge to pull her from the truck and the two of them were lifted to the bridge and safety.
WHAS-TV reports that Trevor Branham was charged last week with four counts of wanton endangerment and one count of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He was arraigned Friday and posted $20,000 bond.
The collision occurred March 1 when Branham struck a stalled vehicle and then slammed into the tractor-trailer. The cab of the rig went over the side of the bridge but remained attached to the trailer, most of which remained on the bridge.
Sydney Thoms, the tractor-trailer driver was trapped in the cab for 45 minutes before being rescued by Louisville firefighter Bryce Carden.
