The Abernethy Bridge on Interstate 205 in Oregon will close overnight Monday, Jan. 26, for removal of an old sign bridge.
The Oregon Department of Transportation said Monday’s overnight closure will be between OR 99E and OR 43, including the on-ramp from OR 99E to southbound I-205 and the OR 43 to northbound I-205 also will close.
The closure hours will be 11 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday.
This work was rescheduled after a high wind forecast canceled the original overnight closure last Friday. Last Saturday night's closure for installation of the new sign bridge was completed.
Motorists can use these detours:
- I-205 travelers will use detours on OR 224, OR 99E and I-5. Follow the signs and plan extra time into your trip.
- Local traffic can use the Arch Bridge to cross the river.
As with any construction project, closure dates and timing are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen events, said ODOT.
