Briefly: Trucker arrested when 100 lbs. of meth is found in tractor-trailer

Troopers in Indiana arrested a trucker when drugs were found in his tractor-trailer during a routine stop.
 
On Saturday, March 21, at about 4:20 p.m., an Indiana State Police Trooper stopped a white Freightliner tractor-trailer on Interstate 70 at the 41 mile-marker eastbound, for a routine DOT compliance inspection.  During conversations with the driver, criminal indicators were observed and a probable cause search was conducted.  
 
During the search, the trooper found 100 pounds of methamphetamine in the trailer along with a handgun in the cab of the truck.   
 
The driver, Kemar Brown, age 33, of San Bernardino, California, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Putnam County Jail. 
 
The estimated street value of the methamphetamine is half a million dollars.
   
Brown faces charges of dealing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.

Truckers can earn rewards points for every gallon of fuel they pump, with rewards increasing as they move up in status. Perks vary by membership level and include fountain drinks, complimentary showers and discounts on a variety of trucker supplies.
