Veteran women drivers featured on public radio

It’s not often you tune in to National Public Radio and hear a story about truck drivers. Even rarer is a piece about women who drive trucks, especially women who are driving every day when many of their contemporaries are piloting golf carts in retirement communities.

But, last Friday, Sept. 23, NPR aired a great segment by Story Corps about two women — 66-year-old Idella Hansen and Sandi Talbott, 75  — who have a combined 9 million miles to their driving credit.

The two women interviewed one another as part of public radio’s Story Corps project. You can listen below.
