Two sisters — Kim and Jan Lineberger — have created a school to not just train truck drivers and construction workers, but to also give them hands-on experience and make them job-ready. The Carolina Construction School, based in Lancaster, South Carolina was born as an extension of the training program at the construction company the two operate. Kim is the school’s founder and Jan serves at its president, and the two are building a classroom facility to house the new school. TheState.com reports that the truck driving program at the school prepares students to take the state’s CDL certification test. In addition to classroom and in-cab training, students also serve five-week internships with the company.
