It’s a ‘Brand New Day’ for Mavericks Friday

Updated Mar 29, 2017

The Mavericks, one of this country’s most eclectic bands, deliver a new studio album Friday, March 31 and true to form, it’s a 10-cut exploration of different genres. Pick a style of music and it very well may be on Brand New Day.

There’s a bit of Tex/Mex, a little gospel, some Cuban, a dash of Texas swing and ballads that echo Roy Orbison.

Brand New Day expresses how we feel about the journey we’re on, as a band, as a family, as a nation, as a world,” Mavericks front man Raul Malo told Rolling Stone. “Now more than ever, we’re going to need to be more compassionate, more understanding, more loving than ever before.”

If you decide to hang around Nashville after this week’s Truckload Carriers Association convention closes, the Mavericks celebrate the delivery of Brand New Day with a show at the Ryman Friday.

The new album is available on Amazon for $9.49
