Drivers can celebrate Mother’s Day in convoy to help kids

There still is time to register for the 28th annual Make-A-Wish convoy to be held Mother’s Day, May 14, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Last year’s event attracted 590 trucks, setting a new Guinness World Record and raising more than $300,000.

The event is sponsored by the RoadPro Family of Brands, which is located in nearby Palmyra.

Drivers need to raise at least $100 in pledges to enter their trucks. They can register online.

The convoy gathers at Burle Industries, 1000 New Holland Avenue (Rt.23) in Lancaster.

The day benefits Make-A-Wish serving Philadelphia, Northern Delaware and Susquehanna Valley.

The schedule for the convoy includes:

  • Convoy driver registration begins at 6 a.m. and ends at noon
  • Convoy departs at 1:30 p.m.
  • Auction begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends about 3:30 p.m.
  • Auction for big/special items is 12:30 p.m.
