Ellen DegeneresTalk show host and comedian Ellen Degeneres will make her return to stand up comedy with a Netflix special, she and the service announced in a press release recently.
Degeneres’ daytime talk show, “Ellen,” is going into its 15th season. Her show has been awarded 59 Daytime Emmy Awards. Degeneres has also hosted the Academy Awards, the Primetime Emmys and the Grammy Awards.
“It has been 15 years since I did a stand up special. 15 years. And I’m writing it now, I can’t wait,” Degeneres said.
Netflix and Degeneres have not yet set a timeline for shooting and producing the special.
“I’ll keep you posted when and where I’m gonna shoot my Netflix special. I’m excited to do it; I’m excited for you to see it,” she said.
Degeneres got her start in comedy as an emcee at a comedy club in New Orleans, her hometown.
