You now have four fewer excuses to not start exercising.
It used to be that one could say:
- “I don’t have time to exercise.”
- “I can’t get to the gym to exercise.”
- “I don’t have any equipment with which to exercise.”
- “I can’t afford a fancy workout app.”
Blame The New York Times for doing away with those excuses with its Scientific 7-Minute Workout.
As the Times describes it, the 7-Minute Workout is “12 exercises deploying only body-weight, a chair and a wall, (that) fulfills the latest mandates for high-intensity effort — all of it based on science.” It also offers two levels, one for beginner and another for folks who want a more strenuous, advanced workout.
Available online, these workouts are guided by either a female voice (Phoebe) or male voice (Alastair). Or, you can choose to have no guide.
And, both are free.

As always, check with your health care provider before starting any exercise program.
