Speeding, seatbelt use top violations during Safe Driver Week

Police officers in the U.S. and Canada issued 46,752 citations and 87,624 warnings to drivers during the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) Operation Safe Driver Week earlier this summer.

Speed-related violations were the most cited ones during the enforcement blitz that was held July 14-20 with 17,556 total citations. Commercial motor vehicle drivers received 1,454 citations and 2,126 warnings. Passenger vehicle drivers were issued 16,102 citations and 21,001 warnings.
