Sons find, restore dad’s ’72 International Transtar

Talk about being good to your father!

Jeff and John Corklin of Titusville, Pennsylvania wanted to do something special for their dad, John for this past Father’s Day. So the two set out to find the 1972 International Transtar 4200 John loved and used to drive.

“Every time my dad and I get together the talk always turns to this truck, and how he wishes we could find it,” Jeff Corklin told WICU-TV. “It was in a field behind a barn, behind a mound of dirt.  It was surprisingly still in pretty decent shape.”

The two sons bought it and Rick Pratschler, who owns HBR Trucks in McKean, Pennsylvania, did the restoration, which took some nine months.

They presented it to John on Father’s Day. Here’s dad’s reaction:
