Trucking calendar: GATS returns to Dallas Aug. 22-24

More than 500 exhibitors with over 50,000 products are gearing up for the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Texas, at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, Aug. 22-24. Show attendees will be able to scope out newer model trucks, access health screenings, and connect with potential employers.

REGISTRATION: Registration is free online in advance of the truck show. On-site registration will cost $10.

TRUCK PARKING: Free truck and RV parking, no hook-ups, is available at the TA-Petro Truck Parking Community. The address is 3013 S Haskell Avenue, Dallas, Texas. Free shuttles will run to and from the truck show. The truck parking community will feature shower trailers, truck service and repairs, food trucks, pet grooming, and more.

ENTERTAINMENT: Red Eye Radio is bringing out several celebrities for meet-and-greets and performances, including American Idol alum and Grammy winner Taylor Hicks. Other celebrities and notable names coming to GATS include Olivia Ooms, Jayne Denham, Tony Justice, Bill Weaver, Jason Henley, Ken Freeman and Taylor Barker.

INFORMATION: GATS is also a place to polish your trucking business skills and learn about the latest regulatory issues. There will be a series of seminars on two stages including Overdrive’sPartners In Business Workshops, which is presented in conjunction with owner-operator business service provider ATBS. There will be seminars on regulatory issues presented by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and a panel discussion of parking issues.
