Low Patrol: 1974 Ford W9000 customized

Henry Ford said of the paint selection for his 1909 Model T: “Any customer can have a car painted any colour (sic) that he wants so long as it is black.”

Robb Mariani must have had that in mind when with his 1974 Ford W9000, “Low Patrol.” The big, low cabover is black, but with a flame treatment and plenty of chrome.

In this video, Mariani recounts that this truck started out life as a mobile command post for the Tennessee Highway Patrol. He bought it used and went to work customizing it in the “American hot rod” style, but with the idea in mind of creating an homage to its origins.

Mariani takes a sharp turn away from old Henry’s quote with “Low Patrol’s” interior. It’s an amazing … well, see for yourself.
