Police in California today chased a stolen big rig for about three hours, sometimes reaching speeds of 70 mph. The pursuit started about 10:30 a.m. Pacific Time in Apple Valley. It ended at about 1:30 p.m., when the driver pulled it into a rest area on the westbound 10 Freeway, parked it and surrendered to police. According to one media report, the driver told police he did not want to go back to jail.
