There is one lucky dog in Arizona.

Media reports say a volunteer with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office was leaving a truck stop in Ash Fork earlier this month when he saw what most people would consider shocking: a tractor-trailer pulling out with a dog tied to the back of it.

The volunteer turned on their siren and lights and pulled the truck over, quite likely saving the dog’s life.

The entire event was caught on a dashcam.

The sheriff’s department posted to its Facebook page, “The driver (who was not identified by police) was simply distracted and headed towards the interstate forgetting to unleash his dog. No charges are being sought.”

Ash Fork is located alon I-40 west of Flagstaff.
