827 tickets issued during Pennsylvania truck travel ban

PR-truck-restrictions

As the latest winter storm bore down on the Northeast earlier this week, Pennsylvania officials took swift and early — and many truckers say unnecessary — action, announcing restrictions and decreasing speeds for most trucks on the commonwealth’s interstates. Many truckers observed the ban and found a place to wait out the storm that delivered some snow and freezing rain. Some didn’t, and many of them were ticketed. In fact, Pennsylvania State Police wrote 827 tickets for violating the travel ban. As this report by WNEP-TV shows, a lot of truckers thought the ban was premature and unneeded. Some trucking companies are saying it was an expensive precaution. And, this week has been a hard slog for truckers around the country.
