Some 120 truckers gathered recently for the 2019 Safety Drive for A Cure event in Georgia. Organized by company driver Herschel Evans, this year’s event raised almost $41,500 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Evans, who drives for Holland, won the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s International Driver Excellence Award for 2018 and received the American Trucking Associations’ Mike Russell Trucking Image Awards in 2017 for his philanthropic efforts. Evans also received the first ever Trucking Cares Foundation Premier Achievement Award.
