13 people injured in 12-vehicle pileup on I-195; truck driver charged

A Cranston, Rhode Island truck driver is facing multiple charges after allegedly failing to stop for traffic, causing a pile-up on Interstate 195 in Rhode Island Tuesday that sent 13 people to the hospital. 

Police say the trucker, 64-year-old Jon P. Main of Cranston, Rhode Island, was charged with driving to endanger, resulting in physical injury. Reports say Main failed to stop his tractor-trailer for a line of stopped traffic.

The collision occurred at about 9 a.m. on westbound I-195 in East Providence.
