The first month of the New Year sees a number of good movies and TV shows coming to Netflix, as well as some great ones. So be sure to have your iPhone or tablet fully charged and ready to watch some classic films, some good new ones and several new seasons of TV staples.
We’re sure you will have a “must see” list of your own, but here’s a few we will be sure to see:
Tom Hanks in “Cast Away”Cast Away (2000) with Tom Hanks as a Fed Ex deliveryman who becomes stranded on a deserted (is there any other kind in Hollywood?) island. Hanks becomes a changed man with the help of a volleyball named Wilson.
The French Connection (1971) stars Gene Hackman and Roy Scheider are New York City cops trying to intercept a huge shipment of heroin. The movie features one of the most memorable car chases in all of Hollywood history. (See the original trailer below.)
Barry Fitzgerld & John Wayne in “The Quiet Man”The Quiet Man (1952) is one of the definitive films of John Wayne that was not a western. This romantic comedy stars Maureen O’Hara, Barry Fitzgerald and Ward Bond and follows Wayne as he returns to the family home in Ireland.
Dule Hill & James Roday in “Psych”Psych (Season 8) follows the escapades of Sean (James Roday) and Gus (Dule Hill) in their work as psychic detectives. This USA Network show was bright, funny, filled with pop culture references, and this was its last season to air.
