Seth Rogan & James Franco in “The Interview”
Netflix has announced that The Interview will be available to its streaming subscribers beginning Saturday, Jan. 24.
The movie stars Seth Rogen and James Franco as a TV news duo that conspires with the United States government to assassinate North Korea’s dictator, Kim Jong-un. As the title of the film suggests, their assassination attempt is tied to an interview that they managed to secure with the North Korean leader.
Sony initially cancelled the film’s premiere after hackers breached the company’s internal network and leaked a great deal of sensitive data. The company then reversed course, however, and turned The Interview into one of the most hyped movies of 2014.
