The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies | PG-13
If you are a fan of the J. R.R. Tolkien fantasy novels you know that Hollywood has taken more than a few liberties with what he wrote, and some of the movies have been better than others. But, Battle of the Five Armies ends the three-part (2012’s An Unexpected Journey and 2013’s The Desolation of Smaug) adaptation of The Hobbit in grand style. It serves well as a prequel to the three Lord of the Rings films. While it may not be non-stop action, it certainly comes close. It even manages some sly humor, and some touching romance. As it has been throughout the trilogy, the cinematography and special effects are stunning. It starsIt stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee and Orlando Bloom. $27.99 on Blu-ray and $14.96 on DVD.
