Traveling to Hawaii is expensive but eating Hawaiian-inspired food doesn’t have to be.

These slow cooker spicy carnitas tacos include crushed pineapple to give them a distinct taste. It balances sweet and spicy well by combing brown sugar, Mirin sauce and molasses with jalapeños, cayenne, ground cumin, smoked paprika and other spices and sauces.

This recipe cooks in about eight hours and yields 8-10 servings.
