With an increase this week, one Florida trucking company will have increased driver compensation three times in the last year with the goal of holding onto drivers for the long term.
Carroll Fulmer Logistics, which is located in Groveland, Florida, recently announced it has installed a new performance-based pay program. Depending on the number of miles they run each week, drivers can make up to .54 a mile, according to Greg Frood, director of recruiting for the company.
The latest increase went into effect Sunday, Jan. 6. Carroll Fulmer also gave drivers raises in February and June.
“This will hopefully go a long way in increasing the paychecks of our drivers and therefore providing them a great living, which will keep them employed at Carroll Fulmer Logistics until they retire,” said Frood. “Which is the plan for every driver we hire.”
The company, which was founded in 1954, has some 400 company trucks and about 100 owner-operators. It provides truckload dry van and reefer services in 48 states.
