New trucking ads aimed at Washington, D.C.

Part of the ad campaign aimed at Congress and the administration

The 30-second radio sot airing in Washington, D.C. these days starts out, “There are at least 7 millions reasons Congress should pass a long-term highway bill. With 7 million employees nationwide, the professional trucking industry literally drives $682 billion in revenue each year.”

It goes on to make the case for Congress and the Obama Administration providing funding for highway and bridge repair and construction.

The ad is part of the Trucking Moves America Forward campaign, supported by numerous organizations and businesses in the trucking industry. There are also print and digital ads placed in Washington, D.C. media.

“Our federal highway program is at a pivotal crossroads, and the passage of a long-term highway bill is critical to modernizing our aging infrastructure and ensuring our roads are safe for our professional drivers and America’s families alike,” said Kevin Burch, co-chairman of TMAF, president of Jet Express, Inc., and second vice chairman of American Trucking Associations.

The current transportation legislation expires at the end of May.
