Pay increased at Transport America

Transport America recently announced a pay increase for its owner-operators, which will allow the  company’s independent contractors to earn $1 per mile.

“Every single person from top to bottom here at Transport America is working together to provide a great experience for our drivers,” said Mike Bash, director of recruiting operations for Transport America. â€śThis pay increase for our owner-operators is just a small piece of the large vision we have for our drivers’ futures.”

The pay increase goes into effect July 1 and eliminates the difference between HazMat and non-HazMat base pay. With the increased pay, all Transport America owner-operators will earn $1 per mile.

This increase comes after an announcement of other compensation enhancements that went into effect May 1. These changes included improved fuel and DEF discounts with 100 percent pass through to the owner-operator. This is decreases drivers’ cost anywhere from 10-60 cents per gallon.

Owner-operators at Transport America, which is located in Eagan, Minn,, can also expect multiple lease options, base plate bonus, $2,000 sign on bonus with own truck, no forced dispatch, $1,000 referral bonus and consistent miles.
