Had they all been there at once, the folks who attended the three-day 36th Annual Truckers Jamboree would have made the Iowa 80 Truck Stop the 13th largest city in Iowa. (Just behind Urbandale with a population of 41,776 and ahead of Cedar Falls, which 40,566 souls call home.)
To be exact: 40,947 drivers, family members and people who just like trucks, good music and a great time gathered at the self-proclaimed largest truck stop in the world in Walcott, Iowa.
Jamboree organizers say folks came from 21 different states and three Canadian provinces to display their trucks. There were 67 trucks in the Super Trucks Beauty Contest and 150 vintage trucks on display.
