Daimler Trucks North America will lay off 1,240 workers in the United States and Mexico, the company announced Monday.
These layoffs will occur at three U.S. sites and one site in Mexico. The locations are:
- Mount Holly, North Carolina manufacturing facility, about 600 layoffs
- Gastonia, North Carolina Components and Logistics facility: About 200 layoffs
- Western Star truck manufacturing facility in Portland, Oregon: About 170 layoffs
- Santiago, Mexico facility: Approximately 270 layoffs
The layoffs are a result of a continued reduction in orders.
