One driver with current or prior military service will win this Kenworth T680 76-inch sleeper. It is powered by a Paccar MX-13 engine. The truck was donated by Kenworth to serve as the “Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence” recognition award.Three finalists were named recently in the “Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence” recognition program that will give a Kenworth T680 76-inch sleeper to the winner.
The finalists for the truck giveaway are:
- Russell Hardy, of Trimac Transportation, who served with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army.
- Kevin Scott, of TMC Transportation, who served with the U.S. Army.
- Troy Davidson, Werner Enterprises, who served with the U.S. Navy.
The winner of the Kenworth will be announced in December at the Pentagon.
Brad Bentley, president of the driver placement organization Fastport, announced them in a ceremony at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas.
The contest is a joint effort of the U.S Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes Program, Kenworth and Fastport. Its goal is to create immediate jobs for transitioning military personnel and help curb the trucking industry’s driver shortage.
