TravelCenters of America is showing its support for Wreaths Across America by offering volunteers and veterans in the convoy delivering wreaths a complimentary dinner at the Petro Stopping Centers location in Bordentown, New Jersey, Dec. 14.
WAA coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at veterans’ graves nationwide, and includes a convoy of volunteers and veterans which drives for a week from Maine to Arlington National Cemetery. About 6,000 volunteers will help place around 245,000 wreaths on veterans’ graves at Arlington on Dec. 17, which is National Wreaths Across America Day.
Truck drivers are a key part of WAA’s success. Trucking companies and drivers dedicate fuel and time to get the wreaths to veterans’ graves all throughout the country.
“As always we want to thank those drivers and trucking companies who volunteer their time in transporting the wreaths to Arlington — a critical function of this special event,” said Tom O’Brien, president and CEO of TA. “The Christmas season is an important time to honor and remember our servicemen and women since the holidays can be a challenging time for military members and families.”
