J.B. Hunt is investing $2.75 million in the University of Arkansas to build the J.B. Hunt Innovation Center of Excellence, a partnership between the company, the College of Engineering and the Sam M. Walton College of Business. The center’s focus will be advancing supply chain management efficiency through technology, the company said in a statement recently.
J.B. Hunt Chief Information Officer Stuart Scott said the center will pursue and produce game-changing ideas that could have a large impact on the industry.
“The innovative ideas that will shape our industry’s future are with the students of today, and we’re proud to be working with some of the best and brightest business, engineering and computer science students at the University of Arkansas,” Scott said.
The Walton College supply chain program at the University of Arkansas was ranked number 14 in the nation in 2016 by U.S. News & World Report.
J.B. Hunt is headquartered in Lowell, Arkansas.
