(Image Courtesy of Rhode Island Trucking Association)XPO Logistics driver Joseph Hicks, of Johnston, was named Rhode Island’s best of the best this past weekend. He was awarded the Grand Champion title at the Rhode Island Truck Driving Championships, organized by the Rhode Island Trucking Association.
This marks the fourth time since 2010 that Hicks has been honored as Grand Champion. He also won first place in the 3-Axle class. Eighteen drivers from six companies came together in Pawtucket on May 12 for the competition.
Connest Vargas, a FedEx Freight driver, was named Rookie of the Year.
