One of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s top deputies has been replaced.

Deputy Administrator Cathy Gautreaux is being replaced by Alan Hanson, deputy chief of staff for Transportation Secretary Elizabeth Chao, according to a report in Politico.

Gautreaux joined FMCSA in late 2017 as the agency’s second-ranking official after spending almost 30 years as executive director of the Louisiana Motor Transport Association. Politico said she is going to work at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
