The slow roll protests are over and the proposed nationwide shutdown by truck drivers is at hand.
Organized on social media by the Black Smoke Matters Facebook group and others, the shutdown Friday, April 12 calls for drivers to take the day off and not drive. Organizers’ say the protest is meant to draw attention to their demands that include:
- Hours of service reforms
- Changing ELD regulations to exempt companies with fewer than 10 trucks
- Improve driver training
- Involvement by drivers in creating regulations
