The driver, Carlos Miron, was taken to a nearby hospital “for a minor cut on his leg,” according to a spokesman for the Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company, which responded to the blaze said to have started at about 1:51 a.m. The truck was parked at the Love’s on Perini Avenue off of Interstate 81.

Miron is said to have been sleeping in his truck and was injured getting out. The truck was destroyed in the blaze, but others parked near it were moved and not damaged.

The state fire marshal reports the fire started between the trailer and the cab of the 2012 Volvo. The fire is also said to have been accidental and stemmed from the refrigeration unit on the trailer, according to a report on the fire.
