TransWood acquires Minnesota-based Kane Transport

Omaha-based TransWood, a privately-owned company specializing in liquid and dry bulk transportation, recently purchased Kane Transport.

Located in Grove Heights, Minnesota, Kane is a 150-plus truck, bulk carrier hauling petroleum products, construction, and agricultural-related commodities in the upper Midwest. This addition increases TransWood’s service area and broadens its portfolio of services while adding six locations to its existing network of 35 facilities across the country.

Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

Kane’s day to day operations will continue with the Kane family and current management team in place, according to a statement from TransWood. Pete Kane will serve as general manager, and Pat Kane will serve as operations manager. Future plans will include integrating TransWood’s technology and operations experience to enhance Kane’s ability to serve their customers.
