The incident occurred on the Florida Turnpike near Boynton Beach Saturday, Aug. 1, afternoon. A passing motorist captured the incident on video and the man on the truck’s hood appeared to be in his underwear.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the unidentified man was driving a Toyota SUV southbound on the turnpike at about 1 p.m. when he began acting strangely. He is said to have stopped the vehicle on the exit ramp to Boynton Beach, got out of the Toyota, and began walking on the highway. FHP said the man jumped the concrete median wall onto the northbound side, causing traffic to slow down, and jumped onto the hood of the truck.

Police say the truck’s driver continued northbound on the turnpike from the 86-mile post, where the incident began, to the 95-mile post with the man on the hood. Troopers eventually intercepted the truck and took him into custody, according to the police report.

The man to Wellington Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

The trucker was not identified, and the incident remains under investigation.
