ABF Freight driver wins Arkansas association's driving skills competition

An ABF Freight driver won the Arkansas Trucking Association's annual Truck Driving Championships held Jun 23-24 at the Rogers Convention Center in Rogers, Arkansas.

Loren Hatfield was the competition's grand champion. He also won the Pre-Trip Inspection Award and the 4-Axle class. 

The Large Team Award went to Wamart Transportation and the Small Team Award was won by ABF Freight.

  • Flatbed: Gary Mars, Walmart Transportation
  • Skeeper: Keith Alderson, Walmart Transportation
  • Step Van: Brian Figgins, FedEx Ground
  • Straight Truck: Jessie King, FedEx Freight
  • Tank: Bret McBain, Walmart Transportation
  • Twins: Jose Ara, Old Dominion Freight Line 
  • Sportsmanship Award: Jessie King, FedEx Freight:
  • Rookie of the Year: Sam Ramset, Walmart Transportation

Winners qualified for the national competition to be held Aug. 16-19 in Columbus, Ohio.
