Expect delays on U.S. side of Blue Water Bridge

Truckers crossing between the U.S. and Canada at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron, Michigan should expect delays starting Monday, Jan. 29.

Crews will begin removing some 110 trees on nearly half an acre adjacent to the existing Blue Water Bridge plaza, near Pine Grove Avenue, Harker Street, Scott Avenue, and westbound Interstate 94 from Garfield to the Black River.

Michigan Department of Transportation said the work is being completed ahead of plaza improvements, which include relocating the eastbound I-94 exit ramp at Pine Grove Avenue, building sound walls along portions of the project limits, and reconfiguring Pine Grove Avenue and 10th Avenue.

The project is expected to be completed by April 1.
