The trucks and trailers of bankrupt LTL giant Yellow Corp. begin to go up for auction next week.
Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers said it will begin the online bidding at 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 5.
Included in the auction are 3,171 items Yellow used in the eastern part of the U.S. Going up for sale are:
- 443 single-axle trucks
- 248 tandem-axle cabs
- 24 terminal tractors
- 2,193 trailers, including 1,635 dry vans
Ritchie Bros. said the next auction of Yellow equipment will begin March 16. It will include:
- 213 single-axle cabs
- 136 tandem-axle cabs
- 17 terminal tractors
- 1,682 trailers
Other Yellow auctions are slated for April 16 and May 7.
Yellow announced it would cease operations late last July, and then filed for bankruptcy in early August.
Many of its owned and leased terminals have already been purchased by some of Yellow's former competitors.
Yellow recently paid off the $700 million Covid-era loan from the federal government.
