A tractor-trailer carrying 15 million bees rolled over Thursday evening on Interstate 95 near Clinton, Maine.

The truck was heading north to Washington County when it crashed at about 7 p.m. near mile marker 141. The bees were being delivered to pollinate blueberry fields in the Down East county.

No other vehicles were involved. The right lane of I-95 northbound in Clinton was closed overnight. No cause was given for the crash.

The truck's driver was taken to the hospital with complaints of pain.

The 15 million bees were largely spared in the crash and did not escape from the trailer.
