The Mississippi Department of Public Safety recently announced a major drug bust involving a commercial motor vehicle's driver.

The agency said in a social media post that on Sept. 11, officers with the Mississippi Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division (CTED) stopped a commercial vehicle on Interstate 20 in Lauderdale County for an inspection.

During the stop, the agency said officers discovered over 1,000 pounds of marijuana hidden within the load inside the trailer. 

The driver, Zhitoa Wang, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. The truck and multiple electronic devices were also seized.

This remains an ongoing investigation, according to the MDPS.
