Tractor-trailer that was stopped twice and placed out of service recently

Some truckers just don't get the message.
A social media post by the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles detailed how its inspectors issued two out of service orders to the same trucker on the same day.
The VDMV said an inspector earlier this month responded to a "be on the lookout" alert for a commercial motor vehicle reported to be operating erratically and failing to maintain its lane. The inspector responded to the area and located the vehicle, and observed the driver using a cellular phone while driving.
The DMV said its inspector conducted a traffic stop and performed an inspection on the tractor-trailer and the driver. As a result of the inspection, the rig was placed out of service due to multiple safety violations, including:
- defective air hoses
- multiple tires with less than 1/32 inch of tread depth
- more than 20 percent of the combination’s brakes out of adjustment
- inoperable turn signals on the trailer
- air leaks not at proper connections
- loose air reservoir tanks
The driver was issued a traffic citation for using a cellular phone while operating a CMV. The vehicle combination was placed out of service for the equipment violations.
A short time later, the same tractor-trailer was observed leaving the area. A second traffic stop was conducted, and it was determined that none of the previously identified out-of-service violations had been corrected.
The owner-operator of the tractor-trailer was issued a fine for violating the out-of-service order, and the tractor-trailer was towed from the roadway.
