176 drivers placed OOS during 4-day Florida truck inspection operation

Officers from numerous law enforcement agencies last month conducted a large-scale enforcement operation in Florida aimed at commercial motor vehicles.

Agents from 10 state and federal agencies inspected over 3,300 vehicles during the four-day Operation Highway Shield.

From March 23 to March 26, officers placed 176 drivers out of service. Of that number, a statement from the Department of Law Enforcement said 54 drivers were taken out of service for what they called "language deficiencies."

Additionally, 35 were arrested on criminal-related charges, and 42 were taken into custody for violating federal immigration laws.
