J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc., one of the largest supply chain solutions providers in North America, recently celebrated its 65th anniversary.
Founded in 1961 by J.B. and Johnelle Hunt, the company has grown from a small trucking operation into an industry leader while remaining focused on service, operational excellence and long-term value creation for our people, customers and shareholders, the company said in a statement.
“Sixty-five years is more than a milestone. It reflects the discipline, resilience and commitment of the people who have built J.B. Hunt and continue to move us forward,” said Shelley Simpson, president and chief executive officer at J.B. Hunt. “Our business has changed many times, but our standard has not: take good care of our people, who take good care of our customers, and that takes care of our business. The same spirit of innovation and adaptability that brought us here continues to guide the people building our future today.”
Over the past 65 years, J.B. Hunt has expanded from its trucking roots to develop a broad portfolio of transportation and logistics capabilities. From pioneering intermodal transportation to investing in technology and a mode-neutral approach, the company has continued to evolve alongside the needs of the market while helping advance more efficient supply chains.
The company is headquartered in Lowell, Arkansas and today operates some 15,000 trucks.

Nasdaq invited J.B. Hunt to ring the Nasdaq Opening Bell in New York City to mark the anniversary. Company leaders and longtime employees represented the company during the ceremony. The group included drivers, maintenance technicians, office employees and executives whose service spans multiple decades of the company's history.
