Rhonda Hartman jokes she just got 19 new brothers.
What the veteran truck driver for Old Dominion Freight Lines actually got was one of the highest honors in the U.S. trucking industry. She was named one of the 20 new members of the American Trucking Association’s Road Team Captains; she and 19 men.
Hartman, now 55, has been driving trucks for 34 years. Today, she is based in Des Moines, Iowa where she is a pick-up and delivery driver for Old Dominion.
