You can be forgiven if you missed the arrival a couple weeks ago of Awake, a seven-song EP from one of country’s hottest young, female singer-songwriters Kalie Shorr.
But, now that you know about it, there’s no reason not to groove to it as you put interstate miles behind you.
The EP is the latest from the Maine-born Shorr who moved to Nashville at the age of 19 and quickly made a name for herself in a showcase called Song Suffragettes. Shortly thereafter Teen Vogue named her one of “10 Female Artists Who Are Changing the Music Game.”
Said Shorr of the EP that arrived Jan. 26, “Sometimes, this industry makes you second-guess yourself … there are just so many opinions, and it’s easy to try to please everyone. This project is the first time I’ve tuned everything else out but my own gut feeling on who I am and what makes me unique … This record feels like the most authentic introduction to me I could give anyone.”
Awake is available on Amazon for $6.93
